Pest Watch with London Network for Pest Solutions - Carpet Beetles & Fleas

September 1, 2017

As we come to the end of the summer season, we will see an increase in two pests.

Carpet Beetles get particularly heavy in September they can be difficult to deal with and will normally need expert treatment, but try to do a few things to help yourself first, move furniture, hoover regularly, use a torch to inspect dark areas. Carpet Beetles do not do any damage, it is their larvae that will eat natural fibres, from carpets (and clothes), London Network for Pest Solutions staff are always on hand to advise you, call us and we will put you in contact with an expert Technician who may be able to advise on control measures before you have to pay for treatment.

Fleas increase in numbers in September and October, although we have seen a decline in the numbers of requests over the years, we still get quite a few hundred calls each year. Fleas are a real problem and can cause a lot of itching and scratching, for both humans and our cat and dog owners!! We have seen a decline because of the increased use of vet prescribed direct treatments such as Frontline but once you have a flea infestation it is nearly impossible to treat without professional advice. Technical Coordinator Pradeep Lawrence said "Although insecticides are very good at clearing up infestations quickly, London Network for Pest Solutions also supply electronic flea traps, these very simple devices attract fleas through a heat source and they get stuck on a sticky pad that can be regularly replaced" call us today on 0208 430 4133 and discuss with our admin staff what woudl be teh best soultion for you.
